Culture Freedom Media (CFM) is a grassroots nonprofit born in the heart of Hampton Roads, Virginia — created by community members, for the community.
We’re a growing collective of organizers, journalists, artists, and everyday people dedicated to providing mutual aid, uplifting untold stories, and creating real change from the ground up.

The truth is simple: we're not waiting on institutions to save us. We're building our own solutions — right here, right now.
Through direct action, media production, and community education, CFM is tackling the issues that matter most:
Poverty & Homelessness – Our Free Store initiative provides free food, clothing, and essential supplies to those struggling to survive under historic inflation.
Food Justice – Through Straw Hat Farms, we’re addressing food deserts by building raised-bed gardens, teaching urban agriculture, and reclaiming food sovereignty in our neighborhoods.
Cultural Documentation – With Culture Chronicles, we’re preserving and showcasing the rich history and hidden talent of Hampton Roads through documentaries, podcasts, and media made by us, for us.
